No person in his right mind would desire a miserable life. We do not choose to do things which can make us miserable. Of course, people try to do something thinking that in acquiring that something, it can satisfy them.
That is why, most people want to become rich, believing that riches can satisfy them with their wants. But, it is written in Ecclesiastes 5:10, "He that loveth silver shall not be satisfied with silver; nor he that loveth abundance with increase: this is also vanity." Millionaires are still not satisfied with their millions. They still want to have another million and another million. But this is not happiness. People has no satisfaction.

Money will buy a bed but not sleep.
Money will buy books but not brains.
Money will buy food but not appetite.
Money will buy cosmetics but not beauty.
Money will buy a house but not a home.
Money will buy religion but not salvation.
Happiness is not through riches or fame. Happiness is in the Lord Jesus Christ, when you accept Him as your own personal Lord and Saviour.
